The Sexual Assault Help and Prevention Center (CALACS) Agression Estrie is a feminist community organization that provides assistance to women and adolescent girls aged twelve and older who have been victims of sexual assault.

The center offers direct support services for the victim and her loved ones, prevention and awareness programs, and is involved in political actions and advocacy.

WHAT TO DO:

If you are in danger, immediately contact 911.

If you need support, contact us 24/7. Our staff answer calls during office hours (8 AM to 5 PM). Outside of these hours, our number is directly transferred to the provincial helpline when you dial 2 for a phone listening service.

A support worker is available 24/7 to assist any girl or woman who wishes, whether it’s at the police station, the courthouse, the CHUS Fleurimont hospital, the family planning clinic, or any other meeting related to the consequences of a sexual assault.

If the assault occurred within the past 5 days:

You can go to the CHUS Fleurimont hospital to:

  • Receive the necessary care.
  • Be informed about the support you may be entitled to (compensation, psychological support, etc.).
  • Undergo examinations that may be important if you decide to pursue legal action.

A CALACS Agression Estrie support worker can accompany you.

If the assault occurred more than 5 days ago:

You can contact the Family Planning Clinic for:

  • A medical consultation if you have concerns (STIs, pregnancy, injuries).
  • Information about the support you may receive (compensation, psychological support, etc.).

A CALACS Agression Estrie support worker can accompany you.

To file a complaint?

It is never too late to file a criminal complaint. Your loved ones might encourage you to report the assaults you have experienced, or you may feel pressured to protect potential victims, but the decision is yours. It is important to make this choice with full knowledge: people can help you make an informed decision.

We would like to remind you that you are not obligated to file a complaint in order to access our services. You can also consult the “Resources” section of our website to find the phone numbers to call. If you wish to be accompanied throughout the reporting and legal process related to the sexual assault, we can support you. Call us at 819-563-9999.
